By George Gabriel, Fri Dec 9th
Joining a golf club has many advantages and benefits, comparedto playing at different golf clubs. Lets take a look at some ofthe benefits and reasons to join a local country club.
(1) Most golf clubs, if not all golf clubs have a handicaptracking system, to keep track of your scores. You do not haveto send your scorecard to a golf association for a legitimatehandicap, to play in golf tournaments.
(2) Golf clubs have a facility with a locker room and restaurantas a meeting place. Therefore you get to know more fellowmembers, which make it a lot easier for you to find players toteam up with.
(3) You're more likely to drive down to your local country clubto practice, than you would at an unfamiliar golf course. Morepractice, means playing better golf.

(6)
A lot of golf clubs have a trade off system, which allowsyou to play at different golf courses in return for othermembers from other clubs, to play your golf course.
(7) You are more likely to play in more golf tournaments. Golfclubs have a member's bulletin board, keeping you informed onwhat upcoming events are coming up.
(8) Once you pay a yearly green fee at a country club, you getto play unlimited golf. Certain days may be restricted for aftercertain hours.
(9) If you join a golf club that has shares, the sharestypically go up on the majority. It may have something to dowith the golf frenzy.

All About Golf
By Sintilia Miecevole, Fri Dec 9th
Sunny laid back Sunday morning, extended weekends or a vacation, discussion on none of these is complete without a mention ofgolf. What exactly is Golf? Well it is an outdoor ball gamewherein the aim is to hit the ball into a series of holes in theminimum possible strokes. A round of golf consists of 18 holes. Now the number of strokes you need to hit one hole is your Par.Each hole has a teeing area around it, which includes a fairway,a rough sideway and a green well-mown area around the hole. Thenthere are the "not so wanted" barriers like sand traps, wateretc that are called the bunkers.
It is believed to have originated from an ancient game calledchole, supposedly meaning, "ball". Most of the people believethat Scotland is where Golf was born, probably out of a banned15th century game called 'gowf'. However many folklore relate itas an acronym for Gentlemen Only, Ladies Forbidden. The modernGolf came into being again in Scotland in the later half of the19th century. Later on over the 20th century golf saw a faceliftwith a variety of golf equipments and techniques being invented.
Golf has woven itself in the social fabric as the game of theelite and high-end businessmen. Would you believe if we tell youthat many US business school add golf to their managementcurriculum? It is a game of social status. After all one has toshell out huge sums on latest equipment, the right clothing andthe green fees of the golf course. This has still kept golf awayfrom the reach of common man. Nevertheless, the massivepopularity of the game can be judged by the very fact that thereare over 32,000 golf courses in the world!
Players move around the golf course with their caddies whomanage the equipments of the players. The
player whose ball isfarthest from the hole gets a chance to play first when eachindividual player has had his chance of playing the ball once. The game is won by the person or the team that scores themaximum holes. It can be played by teams in foursome or byindividuals. A very interesting term taking rounds in thegolfing community is "Golf handicap." This is the score ofproficiency of different players, which affect their net score, thus allowing players of different capacities to play againsteach other.
People say golf is not played by rules but by etiquettes. However, there are a few laid down rules. The most basic are"play the ball as it lies", "play the course as you find it",and "if you cannot do either, do what is fair". A Golfer canplay several types of shots such as tee shot, fairway shot, bunker shot, puts, pitch, flop, chip and a golf swing. A golfswing is the most complex shot that involves perfectcoordination of the complete anatomy of the player.
Over the years golf equipment has grown in term ofsophistication and technique. From golf balls, tees and clubs togolf carts, bags shoes, etc; it is a whole big market out there. The British officers first started professional golf. Now thereare several Golf tournaments like PGA tour, Ryder Cup, U.S. Openetc. In this time and age when pollution is a big problem, thevast golf courses prove to be the breathing lungs of cities andtowns where they are located. They nurture the local flora andfauna and provide a welcome respite from the concrete jungle.

What To Buy Them For Christmas - A Simplified Approach
By L.A. Nelson, Fri Dec 9th
Got something you didn't want last Christmas? Or the Christmasbefore that? Well, you're not the only one. They got stuff theydidn't want either. "They" are your gift-recipients, the onesyou gave a stale fruitcake or a can-opener or that tackymulti-colored Christmas-themed sweater to. The same fruitcakeand sweater that someone, most likely, gave you.
You hated it didn't you? So why pass it on? Probably because youjust didn't know what to get them. In today's fast-paced world,we hardly have time - or take time - to listen to what ourfamily and friends really want.
Or we half-listen and think we're on to something. Your wifecomplains the microwave is on the fritz all year. But do youthink she wants to find a kitchen appliance under the tree? Andreally, does your husband need yet another color-coordinatedshirt and tie?
So what's a clueless gift-giver to do?
First, tune in. Listen to what your loved ones say they want, they wish for, they'd like to have someday.
Second, understand gender differences. Men and women don'tgenerally desire the same types of gifts. Most women likejewelry, for example, but only some men wear jewelry, many donot. Not everyone is the same, of course, so make sure you knowthe taste and style of the person you're buying the gift for.
Third, don't confuse personal gifts with business gifts. A manshouldn't give a ring or "eau de sexy nights" cologne to hisfemale colleague. She's bound to take it the wrong way.
Finally, if all else fails, just follow this simple gift-givingguide:
For her: Women want to feel pretty, no matter how old we get. My70+ year-old mother still slathers on scented lotion and dustingpowder after a bath. Bath and body oils or a spa basket, whichcan include fragrant soaps, lotion and bath gels are always agood choice. Or buy her one of her favorite fragrances. Manycome in gift sets, coupled with scented lotion or soap. Andplease, don't forget the jewelry!
For him: Men like their toys, whether it's a powerful stereosystem or a new Ferrari. Of course, if neither is in your budgetyou can always get him a high-tech gift such as a handheldcomputer from Palm,
Casio and other companies. Is he a golfer orinto fitness? A new golf shirt or gloves, even personalized golfballs make great gifts or stocking-stuffers. Men like personalgifts too, but know your man. Would he prefer a new watch, to agold chain or bottle of cologne?
For kids: Children change so rapidly from year to year, thatit's often hard to know what will hold their interest and keepthem challenged. Make sure the gift is age appropriate so he orshe can play with it now. A pre-schooler will get much more useout of an activity center than an older child's toy like Merlin.Give them different types of toys so they have a variety ofactivities to choose from. In other words, don't give them alldolls or all trucks. Add some educational games to the mix. Andbuy what the child likes. If he prefers a train set to racingcars, the train set will get used.
For mom and dad: You can pretty much follow the For her/For himsuggestions. But, depending on how old they are, you may have toage-up a little. An older woman would probably prefer a moretraditional fragrance like Chanel No. 5 or Halston to HarleyDavidson's Destiny. A string of pearls or a pretty brooch arealways nice. If dad's a golfer, a fisherman or enjoys some otheractivity, find an item he can use or something related that'sfun.
For friends and others: If you're close to the person, gifts canbe more personal: bath sets, clothing or accessories, a piece ofjewelry. Give a business associate an organizer or a smalltravel case. Or you can give anyone a more generic present likea gourmet gift basket that may include candy, fruit, nuts orother food items. This kind of gift makes a lovely addition toany home.
And, it sure beats that stale fruitcake!

A Coat Of Arms - An Easy Way To Design And Make It
By Catherine Calder, Fri Dec 9th
Designing and making your own Coat of Arms is an interesting andenjoyable project. The Coat of Arms could be for your family oras a present. It will make a distinctive and original gift.
You can choose whether it will be funny or more traditional. ACoat of Arms can be an unusual leaving present for a co-worker.
The Coat of Arms can be themed to a particular event or hobby
Hobby or special interest golf, fishing, cooking Life event graduation, winning a particular contest Humorous funnyepisodes in life, the persons quirks
Begin by choosing a background shape for the Coat of Arms. Ashield shape is traditional; however choose a shape that matchesthe person it is for. You could have a heart shaped one for ayoung girl or for someone who is getting married.
Then select the items that will be included in the Coat of Arms. This could be very simple - for example a couple of crossedtennis racquets - or fairly elaborate depending on your theme.
The final size of the Coat of Arms will restrict the number ofitems you can include. A smaller letterhead size Coat of Armsmay only have one or two things, but one painted onto a canvascould include a lot more items and extra detail.
If youre only using one item it would probably be placedcentrally. For two items you could place them side by side orone to the top and the other to the bottom. When a Coat of Armshas four items they are often placed in the four quadrants whichhave been sectioned off with lines.
Clip art is a handy way to select the different things toinclude in your Coat of Arms. Copy and Paste a range of suitableitems onto one page and then make your final selection fromthese.
When you are making a Coat of Arms for a particular person youcan include the things that they like to do. My husband is ateacher, he likes golf, fishing
and does a lot of DIY. Atraditional Coat of Arms for him could be a shield shape dividedinto four quadrants. The sections could have * A mortar board* Golf clubs * Fisherman * A cross shape made from a hammer andscrewdriver
For a smaller, less formal one I could use a golf ball shapebackground with a diagonal cross made of a fishing rod and agolf club. There could also be a motto like Lifes too short towork! or something similar.
A good theme for a funny Coat of Arms would be to choose thingsthat represent silly episodes in their life. You can really getcreative with your items!
To make up your Coat of Arms draw in the background shape andplace your items for a pleasing result. You could add a motto atthe bottom as well. Using computer fonts for this will ensurethat the lettering, and the spacing between the letters, isperfect.
If you have done this in a computer program you could print itout. Remember that most computer inks will fade over time ifleft in the sunlight.
Alternatively you could trace and paint the Coat of Arms onto acanvas panel. For a larger one you can print out sections of theCoat of Arms onto several pages of computer paper and join themtogether. Trace this onto a canvas panel or stretched canvas andpaint it I like to use acrylic paints because they are waterbased and quick and easy to use.
A large Coat of Arms on a stretched canvas is an impressive gift.
If you have made a family Coat of Arms you could add it to yourletterhead, or print it onto the front of cards for your ownpersonalized stationery.
This is a great project that you will enjoy doing either byyourself or with others. Be sure to give it a try.

By Peter Crump, Fri Dec 9th
If you play a lot of golf, then you know the challenges offinding the right kind of sunglasses to let you see the greensand the ball in all kinds of lighting conditions. Avid golfersrecognize the need for wearing golf sunglasses that address yourneeds when playing golf in all kinds of weather. Since youcannot change the direction of the sun when you tee off, youneed special golf sunglasses to help you play the best game.
There are several designers that make sunglasses for golf. Oneof these is NYX and this company has developed a full line ofgolf sunglasses because they know that regular sun glasses arenot enough. There are three different lens styles in thesesunglasses made just for golf. The amber lens series of thesebest sport sunglasses are great for all kinds of contrastingconditions on the golf course. They filter blue light to enhancethe color of the greens.
If you want the colors to remain true, then the best sportsunglasses to choose are the NYX golf sunglasses in thetraditional line. In this line of sun glasses for golf, you canchoose either gray or yellow lenses. The gray lenses in the sunglasses helps to minimize the color shift and the yellow lenseshelp to increase the flow when the light is low or flat.
Of all the golf sunglasses, the ones that combine the featuresof the amber and traditional lenses are really the best sportsun glasses for golf. These sunglasses for golf contain a darkerlens to reduce the glare and they help improve the visual acuityyou need when playing golf.
Golf sunglasses need to be lightweight because of the length oftime you are outdoors. They also need to have 100% UV protectionin a wraparound design. This feature in sunglasses for golfgives you the ultimate protection and at the same time providesyou with unobstructed vision. Its no good to be able to hit thegolf ball really well and make a hole in one if you cant seethe ball.

Defense Driving Tips From A Parked Position For The Novice
By George Gabriel, Fri Dec 9th
Leaving a parked position can be quite the hazard, if your notsure of the proper procedure.
You are about to move forward from a parked position. Positionyou're hands at ten o'clock and two o'clock on the steeringwheel. If you let go of the steering wheel, you're hands shouldcontinue to rest on the wheel. Some drivers prefer the 3 o'clockand the 9 o'clock position. If your driving an automatic, theright hand should not have to go too far to change gears, placing it back to the 2 position. The left hand should slidedown the steering wheel without leaving the steering wheel tosignal. Place your hand back to the ten position when youfinished signaling. One hand on the wheel is not the safe way todrive a vehicle.
Now your ready to drive forward and you have done all the safetychecks before you roll forward and signaled out of you're parkedposition. Safety checks include checking your mirrors andshoulder depending on the direction your pulling out of. If youdo not pull out right away after your checks, you will have torecheck again. Keep in mind that you are leaving a parkedposition and you are hardly moving. Traffic behind you can bemoving fast. Check you're shoulder just before you think you aregoing to accelerate and glance a second time, after you havelooked forward to check you're path ahead. Checking a secondtime gives you that option to go back to the brake, in case avehicle comes around some corner and surprises you. Use you'rereview mirror as much as possible to avoid this situation.
When you're parked between two vehicles. Position you're vehicleso you are clear of the vehicle in front of you, by inching backfar enough. Position the nose of your vehicle forward, in aclearance position ahead of you. When you
are on a wide roadway, you typically have a couple of feet without obstructing trafficand cyclists. Make sure you are not entering the nose of yourvehicle into a potential hazard! Keep in mind the amount youturned the wheel. If you have cranked the wheel quite a bit.Make sure you do not end up on the other side of the road. Toavoid this potential hazard, ease off the gas pedal when out ofthe parked position and gain control of direction by correctingthe steering wheel position.
Reviewing the proper procedure of leaving a parked position froma curb.
(1) Path ahead (2) Mirrors (3) Signal (4) Shoulder check (5)Path ahead (6) Recheck shoulder (7) Proceed when all is clear
The first thing you check is your path ahead to make sure it'sclear.
Check your mirrors to see if it's safe behind you.
Signal to traffic behind to let them know your intentions. (Handsignal if you think other drivers can't see you're signal. Alsobring you're hand back in before you start to maneuver thevehicle out of the parked position.)
Glance over to your blind spot just in case another vehiclepulls out from across the road, just before you make themaneuver.
Recheck your path ahead and proceed forward with one more glanceover you're shoulder. Do not release the brake pedal until afteryou have looked forward. A pedestrian may have approached you'revehicle while you were looking the other way.

How To Make Money Online Selling Other People's Stuff
By Anthony Pepi, Sat Dec 10th
There are many ways to make money on the internet, but themethod that I use is selling other peoples stuff online! Theway in which I go about doing this is I DO NOT promote myaffiliation link (eg.http://hop.clickbank.net/?anfpepi/webvista2 ). This is simplybecause no one will purchase the product. Why you say? Becausethe person selling is only trying to make money and the consumerknows this. Now, youre probably wondering If the consumerknows Im trying to sell my product and wont buy from me, howam I ever going to make a sale? You can do this by eitherpromoting a link which redirects to your affiliate link withoutthe knowledge of the person OR you can design a website to thespecific product. To my understanding and belief, designing awebsite is much easier as you have tremendous advertisinglimits. In simple terms, a website gives great number of ways toadvertise your website (eg. Search engines, ppc, etc.) And alsolets you track where your visitors are coming from. There aremany forms of advertising but most of them cost money and hardlyproduce any sort of sales. Can you guess which form ofadvertising is very effective and best of all FREE? Your lookingat it, writing up newsletters like this and sending them off toowebmasters and other sorts of classifieds. You may be thinkingWhy would anyone want my article? First of all, webmasterslove these articles. I have even had webmasters come back to meand ask if I could write up anymore articles for them. Why dothey do want more articles? Because it increases their searchengine rankings by providing visitors to their site. After theyplace your article on their website, a portion of their visitorswill visit your site. Once you have placed your article out onall the websites
you can find, your traffic will dramaticallyincrease and so will your search engine rankings. And thusSales!! Maybe your new to the Internet business and don't haveenough experience to write about anything regarding the InternetNo problem. Everyone has some life experience that they canwrite about. Maybe youre a good golfer. You better believe thatthere is person out there to be out there who is surfing theInternet looking for information on how to putt. Now, youreprobably not going to be able to write an article about golfingand get it listed on a home based business website. But therestill plenty of websites that will accept an article of thisnature and still drive traffic to your business site. I wouldrecommend doing a search on your favorite search engine for"submit golf articles" or something of that nature. Be creative, you will never run out of websites willing to accept yourarticle. After I have completed this article, I will write anautobiography about myself. This can be found at the bottom ofthe page. Only 2% out of the entire internet population areearning enough money to quit there jobs. Do you want to beincluded in that 2%?

People - You Can't Make Them What They're Not
By Alan Fairweather, Sat Dec 10th
Many business people and managers are spending too much timetrying to change the underperforming people who work for them. They seem to believe that if they train people - tell them whatto do or even threaten them with the sack - then the performancelevel will go up.
The successful manager concentrates on developing the strengthsof his team members - not trying to correct their weaknesses.Sometimes you have to manage around a weakness, but you can'tmake people what they're not.
Some years ago I decided to improve my golf by taking somelessons. A friend and I spent some hours with a professionalgolfer and coach at a local country club. This was really usefulto me and I did get better. However my friend Robin hadn't aclue. No matter what the pro told him to do, how to change hisstance and his grip, he could hardly hit the ball.
If you'd given Robin a hundred lessons and threatened him with agun, I doubt if he'd ever have completed a round of golf in lessthan two days. Robin is a successful lawyer and makes a lot ofmoney, however a golfer - he is not.
So if you have a sales person on your team who isn't bringing inthe sales or a production engineer who isn't making his quota, then you have to make a decision. Is this person not producingbecause they don't have the ability - because they need moretraining or - because there's another reason?
You can read more about coaching and other reasons for nonperformance in my book - "How to get more Sales by Motivatingyour Team" but for the moment it's important to understand thatthe individual may not be able to do the job.
They may tell you they can do the job because they're unwillingto accept defeat; however I've known people in sales jobs whoshouldn't be in sales and doctors, plumbers, lawyers andengineers who were also in the wrong job.
What you need to do is get people who can't do the job into ajob that they can do or get
them out of your team.
I joined three companies as a manager and in each case Iinherited team members who didn't have what it takes to do thejob. I'd usually find three categories of people in the teams -The first group were the 'good guys,' the ones I knew could dothe job and wouldn't give me any hassle.
The second group consisted of people who needed a bit of lookingafter, watching closely and definitely some coaching.
The third group were the ones didn't have either the skills orthe characteristics to do the job and no amount of training, oranything I could do, would change that. I would often find thatthese people, due to their lack of success, weren't exactlyhappy in the job anyway and were sometimes only too pleased tobe transferred to another position.
I hear you saying - "easier said than done Alan" and you'reright. But the successful manager needs to address these issuesfor the good of the team and the business.
The successful manager concentrates on strengths not weaknesses. It's vital to give your people feedback on their strengths andalso on their weaknesses. However these should only beweaknesses that you know the individual can do something about.
It's a waste of your time and effort trying to sort weaknessesthat can't be sorted. Some people just can't build relationshipswith customers; others can't work as fast as you need them toand others can't write a report to save their life.
Your most productive time as a manager will be spent givingfeedback on strengths and how to develop these even further. Many managers spend the majority of their time with team memberstrying to resolve weaknesses. They then don't have the time orsometimes the capability to give feedback on strengths.

Cash In On The Information Product Goldmine Today!
By Lane Bowers, Sat Dec 10th
In today's fast-paced Web environment, there are lots of waysyou can add value to your website. The most common one is simple'content' in the form of articles related to your business. Butmany entrepreneurs have taken that concept a step farther, andare now offering content that not only complements theirbusiness presentation, but that can be sold as a separateproduct.
Selling an informational product from your website is worthconsidering no matter what your business is. From ebooks toaudiotapes to videotapes, the choices are varied - and many ofthem are surprisingly affordable, with all the technologyavailable to us now.
Take, for example, websites about sales techniques. Many onlinesales experts - particularly trainers and coaches - haveavailable, on their websites, books and tapes ABOUT the art ofselling. Visitors to the site can learn from browsing throughthe free informational content there, or they have the option ofpurchasing these additional products to further pursue theirlearning.
Let's say you wanted to learn how to golf -- there are severalways to go about it. You would want to get out on a course andhit a few balls, you might take a lesson or two, and you mightsubscribe to a magazine about golfing.
If you're on the Internet, you'll most certainly do a search forgolf websites. And when you find them,
you'll likely discoverthat a huge percentage of websites about the game of golf haveinstructional videos you can purchase to help you with your game.
I know a woman who is a plastic surgery consultant. Although shehas lots of good informational articles on her website, herhottest product is a tape she made of interviews with doctorsregarding various procedures. It sells, directly from herwebsite, for over $20 - and sells like the proverbial hotcakes, too!
A wallpaper expert I know has a little coil-bound booklet of'Interior Decorating Tips' for sale on his website - for $10. Ittook him about 20 minutes to put the thing together, at a costof about $1.30 per book!
How can you apply this concept to your business, and yourwebsite? Can you create an ebook about your product that peoplewould be willing to pay for? Does your product or service lenditself to any kind of instructional information that you couldsell? Would an audiotape work for you? Have you ever thought ofcreating an instructional videotape for your site visitors? Astep-by-step visual presentation of your product or servicecould be just the goldmine your website needs.
Don't miss out on a whole new avenue of inexpensive, but highlyeffective, promotional materials for your business!

Not All Links Are Created Equal
By Sunil Tanna, Sat Dec 10th
Every wise webmaster knows the more links you have to your site, the more traffic you'll get - so increasing the number of linksto his site, really is a webmaster's number one promotionalpriority. However a lot of webmasters get so enmeshed inbuilding up the number of links to their sites, that they forgetall links are not created equal - some links are far morevaluable than others.
It is absolutely essential to your success that you not onlybuild up the number of links to your site, but also be fullyaware of how to evaluate the worth of each link. This lets youcan concentrate your efforts on getting the most effective linksto your site, and guarantees that you are getting a fair deal inany reciprocal linking arrangements.
Here's a list of factors you should consider when assessing thevalue of a particular link:
* Permanent. A permanent link to your site is far more valuablethan one that is removed after a few days (or even hours, in thecase of some automated Free-For-All links pages).
* Placement. A link to your site from the front page (or evenone of the internal pages) from a high traffic site, especiallyone of the top few thousand web sites, is far more valuable thana zillion links from people's personal home pages.
* Relevance. Ideally the link to you should be on a page (orbetter yet a whole site) devoted to the same or a closelyrelated topic to your own. For example, all things being equal,a link to your golfing store from a golf tips site is much morelikely to produce results than from an auto, finance or gamessite.
* Descriptive. A link that explains your site and entices aperson to click, will get far more traffic (and better quality, more interested visitors) than a non-descriptive link. Comparefor example: "Joe's Golf Store" versus "Joe's Golf Store - Tourquality golf clubs at discount prices, complete guide to everygolf course in the USA and Canada, and free pro golfing tips"
* Low Competition. A link that is buried among 500 others on thesame page will not get many clicks. A listing on a page whichalso lists 10 or 20 direct competitors (example: other golfstores selling to the same market), is less valuable than being"exclusive" in your particular category (example: being the onlygolf store on a list of resources for golfers).
* Context. Links usually work better if place in some kind ofrelated context like an article for example. Be prepared to helpout people placing your links in a context that works byproviding free articles, which explain your topic (not the
sameas blatant self-promotional!) or simply being prepared to answerquestions.
So the next question is how to build up the number of highquality links to your site - here's a few ideas to get youstarted:
* Swap links with others' sites. Every link swap you set up willeat up a slice of your time - so concentrate on finding siteswhere it's clear the link will be valuable to you. Be polite, add your link to them before you approach them, and don't be toopicky if it's you who is doing the approaching (just don't askfor a link if you're going to make a bunch of rules).
* Evaluate link requests. If you have a links page (and probablyif you don't) and a reasonable amount of traffic - you willundoubtedly get link swap requests from other webmasters. Take amoment to look at their site and their links page beforedeciding if it's a good deal for you.
* Add a "link to us page". Create a page on your site, whichincludes information on how (detailed instructions), and why, tolink to your site. Make it easy, make it valuable to otherwebmasters (by for example giving them free content), and overtime the number of links to you will grow.
* Pay for links. Start your own affiliate program and pay othersites to link to you. You can pay them a percentage of the salesthey generate for you, or for each visitor they send. The nicething about this is if you make your program reasonably flexibleand the commissions in line with your goals, then affiliateswill figure out ways to send you the kind of traffic you want.
* Create your own free downloadable information product (likeE-Books or software for example). Make sure it ties in with themain theme of your site - is valuable to users - and then listit at every shareware and freeware directory you can find (thereare literally hundreds of these). Most will link directly to thedownloadable file - but many will also add a free permanent linkto your home page (or your page about the product). It's worthknowing that some shareware and freeware sites likehttp://www.zdnet.com/downloads/ and http://download.cnet.com/have quite incredible amounts of traffic.
Whichever strategies you use to build up links to your site, always be sure that the time you put into establishing each linkis in balance with the value of that link. Keep things inproportion, use your knowledge of "link value" to youradvantage, and get linked for mega traffic!

Marketing With Blogs - Part 2
By Priya Shah, Sat Dec 10th
Copyright 2005 Priya Shah
In part 1 of this article series on marketing with blogs, Idiscussed the reasons why blogs are excellent tools formarketing.
In this article I outline some tips on using your blog as a goodvehicle for your marketing communications.
Tip # 1: Choose The Topic Of Your Blog Well
Make sure you are targeting the right audience for yourproducts. You might love golf, but you cant use it to sell yourproducts unless theyre meant for golfers.
You generally wouldnt write about something like golf on amarketing blog, unless youre using it as a metaphor.
Pick the topic that will attract the right audience people whoare looking for your products, but more importantly, people whoare willing to actually spend money on them.
If youre not an expert on your topic, but are learning aboutit, blog about your learning process. Theres no shame in beinga learner, in admitting that you dont know everything.
In fact your journey could even teach others who are learningand help them relate to your experiences. Products you recommendwould then be easy to sell to this group because youveestablished the emotional connection that makes selling easier.
Tip #2: Spend Some Time Learning The Basics Of Blogging
You need to learn how to use your blogging software, and whichblog engine or service will give you the results you need.Decide how much time you want to spend on your blog.
Hire a blogging coach or buy a blogging tutorial. Spend sometime learning about trackbacks, pingbacks, keywords and how touse them, linking, blogging etiquette.
When you know how to use the tools that are available to you, itbecomes that much easier to focus on your goals and save time inthe actual process
of blogging.
Tip # 3: Dont Sell
When you start writing a blog, forget about selling. Too manypeople use their blog like a sales letter. Those people justdont get it. Thats not what a blog is about at all.
Blogs are about communicating connecting with your audience.Use your blog to build relationships with your audience. Stateyour opinions whether they are popular or not.Politically-correct or not.
A while ago I wrote an article on this titled Its a Blog, Nota Sales Letter in which I recommend using your blog forbranding yourself, building your reputation and communicatingwith your audience - and not just for making a sale.http://www.blog-maniac.com/blog-sales-letter.htm
As marketers we aim to sell. But when you blog, you have toforget about selling and focus on sharing.
That doesnt mean you give away all your secrets on your blog. But it does mean that you should not use your blog forin-your-face marketing.
Your readers will be very put off if all they read on your blogis one sales pitch after another. People are not stupid. Theyknow when theyre being sold.
The most unobtrusive way to sell is to write reviews aboutproducts and link to them, mention products in passing, writearticles or tips and recommend products (yours or otherpeoples) and services on your blog.

Tahoe Vacations - Prepare For The Fun
By Ken Snow, Mon Dec 26th
When people think about Tahoe vacations, they are usuallythinking about a skiing trip. That is because Tahoe is a greatplace to ski for people at all skill levels. From the beginnerto the expert, you can find ski slopes that seem to have beenmade just for you at the hot spots for Tahoe vacations. However,Tahoe vacations offer a much more. Skiers, snowshoers andsnowboarders are likely to have an incredible time on Tahoevacations. Even those who can't ski will appreciate the beautyof this place. If barreling down a mountain of snow doesn'texcite you, then maybe you will find your place with thefishermen. Many people take Tahoe vacations just to fish. Peoplewill drive amazing distances because of the great fishing thatthe streams and lakes in this area have to offer. From October 1to June 30, the streams that drain into Lake Tahoe and theirtributaries are closed to fishing. However, many of the lakes, including Tahoe, stay open year round. There are many kinds offishermen that go on Tahoe vacations. Some like to troll thelakes and streams, and some fly fish. Just make sure that youhave any license that you are required to have, and follow therules. Golf has become more and more popular in recent years andmany people hit the Tahoe vacation spots for the premier golfcourses. Golf is a sport that is popular to a wide array ofpeople. The
sport doesn't restrict because of social class, race, age, or gender. More and more people are getting into iteveryday. Even those who don't golf can appreciate the naturaland man-made beauty of the greens. And there are many courses tochoose from on your Tahoe vacations. When you are going on Tahoevacations, remember to bring the right gear - including sunblock. Whether you are going to ski, snowboard, fish, golf, orsimply soak in the beauty that is Tahoe, take care of your skinwhile you are there. When there's snow on the ground, somepeople may not even think of the need for sunblock. This is abig mistake since sun's rays can actually reflect off of thesnow and ice creating an even more intense effect. When you areon the snow, make sure that you wear all protective gearincluded tinted goggles. The bright reflections off of the snowcan also be bad for your eyes.
With a bit of planning, you'll have an incredible time on yourtrip, and you'll likely find that Tahoe vacations become anannual event.

Should We Walk Or Ride
By Richard Myers, Fri Dec 9th
Should We Walk or Ride
Most of us when playing golf are riding in carts. But should weconsider walking rather than riding?
The PGA has written they believe "walking is the most enjoyableway to play golf and the use of carts is detrimental to thegame." They claim "this negative trend needs to be stopped nowbefore it becomes accepted that riding in a cart is the way toplay golf."
There is no doubt that walking the course is a good exerciseprogram. There have been many scientific studies to prove thatwalking a golf course is a great exercise. One study has shownthat walking 18 holes has about the intensity of 50 percent ofmaxium aerobic workout. Another study shows that bad cholesterolwas reduced in walking golfers.
There are many other
sources that show that walking the courseis very good aerobic exercise.
If you are out of shape and overweight like a large percent ofus are, it is best that you start your walking program graduallyrather than all at once.
Some suggestions for those of us that now ride, have beenoffered for us to get in shape, slowly. A few of them are; walknine holes, then ride the other nine; walk and ride every otherhole; leave your cart on the cart path, and walk to and fromyour ball.
It has also been suggested that it is a good idea if walking touse a pull cart for your bag, or to use double straps on yourgolf bag.
Though it may not be the very best form of exercise, it issurely better than none at all, and a great place to start.

Putting, What Do I Do Now?
By Will T, Fri Dec 9th
It is perhaps the supreme irony in golf that the simplest shotin the book seems to cause the biggest problem to the largestnumber of golfers.
Lets's face it, the putt is the only golf shot that it is reallypossible to execute flawlessly without any tuition at all. Weall start off doing this as kids. Some of us are even superb atit at this young age. It is this shot that is often the spurthat leads to a lifelong addiction to this wonderful game ofgolf.
What then, goes wrong? How can this easiest of golf shots becomethe absolute bane of an adult golfer's life? Sorry to say, thereis no easy answer. Experts are just as baffled as inexperiencedamateurs over this one. The saying 'it's all in the mind' wasprobably never more true than in this golfing case.
Several years ago, an American company developed a golf puttingmachine. They carried out tests in optimum putting conditionsand were gob-smacked to discover that their pride and joycouldn't hole every putt. They took that machine apart andtweaked every element of it until they were certain that it wasin perfect working order. And, guess what? It still failed tohole some putts. If this doesn't go to prove
that there is atleast an element of 'black art' about golf putting, then nothingwill.
The best lesson to take from the above is that you really neverare going to achieve putting perfection. If a machine in perfectworking under operating under perfect putting conditions failsto hole every golf putt, then a human being with all his or herimperfections never is.
So, the first rule is, stop giving yourself such a hard timewhenever you miss a few putts. It happens to even topprofessional golfers. In fact, any problem you have with puttingis much more likely to be psychological than physical, so thevery last thing you should be doing is getting down on yourselfmentally; this can only make matters worse.
Is there anything you can do if you really do have severe, regular putting problems? Well, apart from working on the mentalTake your lead from the professionals. So many professionalgolfers who've suffered terribly from the 'yips' on the puttinggreen, such as Bernhard Langer, found their salvation in thebroomhandle putter - maybe you should give one a try.

Hobby Or Hinderance?
By Will T, Fri Dec 9th
Ask a room full of people what hobby they have and you will getas many answers as there are people. Others will confess thatthey dont have a hobby. They probably do; but just dont labelit as such. By definition, a hobby is an activity or interestpursued outside one's regular occupation and engaged inprimarily for pleasure.
Whether stamp collecting, chat rooms, trains, soft ball, scrapbooking, golf, reading, painting, tap dancing, yard work, crafts, auto mechanics, music, hunting down garage sales, sewing, fishing, cooking, boating, furniture refinishing, javelin tossing or a plethora of other activities or intereststhe key element is balance. You must find balance between yourfamily life and your extracurricular activities.
Too much of a good thing turns bad. Everyone should have anoutlet and a special interest that they enjoy doing forthemselves. Self indulgence, to a point, is quite healthy.Escaping from day to day grinds to take some time to devote toyour special hobby or concentration is therapeutic. Youve allheard, if Mamma aint happy, no ones happy. It doesnt matterif your role is father, mother, husband, wife, boyfriend, girlfriend, son, daughter, brother or sister, if youre justgoing to work or school and have no real outside activities, youre probably not always the most friendly person to bearound.
Conversely, if you bury yourself and it seems to others that allyou care about or all you ever want to do is bang on the drumsall day, youre setting yourself up or prolonging
discontent.People deal with depression in many ways. Some sleep all thetime. Others want to do nothing but read, read, read. Stillothers will spend hours upon hours downstairs building a bigger, faster widget, just to avoid the real cause of theirfrustrations. Hobbies are supposed to be a healthy outlet, not acatalyst to ignore issues that need addressing.
Likewise, hobbies can get very expensive. Sure snow mobiles, motorcycles and ski equipment are obviously expensive. Butsometimes those seemingly low cost activities can add up. Youstart out with trying to budget for the monthly karate lessons. Then you need (or want) the gi, the uniform. Dont forget aboutthe protective sparring equipment. Perhaps you think you need tohave a heavy bag or some shields to help you practice. Figure on$30-$50 per tournament that you enter. Of course theres theuninsured medical and orthodontia costs to be calculated in aswell. Lets see, do we pay the mortgage this month, so get thatnew helmet that you just have to have?
If your hobby is doing more harm than good, if its dipping intothe family budget and time allocation, more than you can orshould be spending, its time to reevaluate. If youre not doingsomething outside your standard occupation that you enjoy, itstime to find something, for your and your familys sake!

Secret Sneaky Tactic To Get A Complete Used Golf Club Sets On A
By Jed Baguio, Fri Dec 9th
Have you experienced this when you're bidding on ebay or otherauction site? You bid on an item, lets say used golf club sets, you put you're first bid. Then you leave it for a while thinkingyou'll be winning on the bid. After a while you checked itagain, then suddenly there's a higher bid... What? I need to getthat used golf club set, I'll bid higher!...
Then the cycle begins pushing the price to ridiculous prices.Sounds familiar? If you havent experience such thing, thenconsider yourself lucky.
So is there a solution on getting you're used golf club setswhile avoiding such difficulties? You bet and I'll lay down foryou plainly. But first, in order for you to grasp how effectivethis method not only for winning auctions, but also how to getit cheaper, I'll have to point out one big factor that leads tohigher auction prices.
Simply put... Amount of bids on an item. The higher the amountof bids the higher the prices will go. So in order to get itcheaper we'll have to minimize our number of bids as much aspossible to deter higher prices due to competition. Now that'sexplained lets move to that sneaky tactic.
Two words. Auction Sniping... and no you don't need a rifle forthis tactic to work.
Auction Sniping basically is a technique that states that youbid on an item, like used golf club sets, on the last fewseconds of the auctioned item. This sneaky tactic is veryeffective because you bid on the
last moment, this minimizes thefinal price. Not only that, this tactic lets you win moreauctions because other interested parties dont have enough timeto outbid you coz you're bidding by the last seconds.
But where not done yet. In order for you to accomplish this youneed to have an automated software or robot to place the bid foryou. So you dont need to be physically watching the auctionused golf club sets in its last seconds. This will free upyou're time and enjoy yourself. Being physically there to bid onthe last seconds is a daunting task. It just brings moreheadaches.
Then how do get an automatic sniping software to snipe you'reauctioned used golf club sets? Fortunately there are websitesthat are offering such service. Unfortunately they usuallycharge for such services. Fortunately again I found one sitethat offers such services for free. We'll not exactly, they justlet you try it for 5 times (last time I checked), But that goodenough. Let's you try the waters if you know what I mean.
So I hope this article is useful on getting you're hands on aused golf club sets. Good Luck And Happy Sniping.

Just to avoid regrets on buying a used titlist golf club. Icompiled a simple checklist for you.
I. Check and compare different shops.
That's right. If you have the time, I suggest that you shoparound for used titlist golf clubs from different shops, suppliers or even from friends or neighbors. You'll be surprisedon how much cash you'll be preserving in the end.
II. Inspect the Grip, Shaft and the Clubhead.
These are the 3 things that greatly affect the performance ofnot only used titlist golf clubs, but also most of the golfclubs. Check the grip if it has cracks or severely worn out andavoid such things if possible. Although re-griping used titlistgolf clubs are not expensive but if
you can find that not thatdamaged, then well and good, more cash saved.
But Inspect the clubhead meticulously! This has a huge impact ona golf club's performance. Make sure that it has no dents, cracks or hints of extreme wear and tear. Lastly check thegrooves of the clubheads, make sure it still there and not faded.
III. If you can try to ask for a test period.
Although this is highly unlikely that they'll offer to testtheir used titlist golf clubs. But it's worth the effort. Youwill be minimizing you're risk, saves you time and money.
There you have it. These are the most important things to checkin a used titlist golf clubs. Going through you're checklistensure you that you'll get a good deal. One more thing. Golf Carts
By Kathryn Whittaker, Fri Dec 9th
According to new research, more than 60% of cars in the USANorth America travel less than 15 miles per day and nearly halfof drivers travel less than five miles away from home. With gasprices climbing higher every day and air being polluted with gasemissions, a golf car is the most environmentally friendlyvehicle out there. With all the golf cart accessories available, golf carts can become the most stylish and eco-friendly vehicleon the road.
Golf carts are widely used in university campuses where theytransport people, goods and equipment, and are even used incases of medical emergencies. They are also used in quietneighborhoods, at large sports events by the personnel, and ofcourse, on golf courses by golfers. Many golf carts arepurchased by disabled people who appreciate the higher speed andsafety of golf carts compared to those of power wheelchairs.
Driving a golf cart is extremely economic. It costs around onecent per ten miles to operate an electric golf cart. It's alsoten times cheaper to maintain and repair a golf cart than a car. However, not many automotive giants readily leap into the golfcart market, claiming that there is currently no demand for golfcarts.
Still, more and more neighborhoods, especially in resort areasor those surrounded by golf courses, switch to golf carts toaccess malls, movie theaters, schools and restaurants withouthaving to ride on the highway. In university campuses golf cartscan be used only on designated streets and paths. Golf carts, asneighborhood electric vehicles with a proper license can travelon roads with posted speed limit of 35 mph.
Golf carts
were introduced in the 1950s and later became popularthanks to golf visionaries such as Billy Dolan. With golf carts, golf greatly evolved as a game. Smaller, more efficient andnicely designed golf carts with cute stylish accessories such ascustom wheels and seats, lift kits and even programmable speedcontrols, golf carts are becoming safer each year.
As a vehicle, golf carts can have three or four wheels. They canbe powered by electric or internal combustion motors. The mostfamous golf carts manufacturers include Cushman, Club Car,Daihatsu, and many more.
Among the most popular golf cart accessories today are lift kitsthat add clearance to the golf cart which help with accessingrocky places and bumpy roads. Many lift kits include off-roadtires that can be used on the golf cart making it a rough littleoff-road beast.
Another popular golf cart accessory that is in huge demand incolder seasons is a rain curtain. These curtains can be snappedto the car frame to sit permanently on the car body, or they canbe clipped to the car with hooks and removed in warmer seasons.
Many golf cart accessories basically do nothing except add someflare. Racing-style aluminum pedal kits, graphic and even 3Dcamouflage, custom steering wheels will add a stylish touch toany golf cart.
Golf carts are slowly spreading beyond student campuses, golfresorts and retirement communities. Well-designed and safe golfcarts may soon be as common on city streets as scooters andbikes.

Milestone Birthday Gift Ideas
By Mike Hamilton, Fri Dec 9th
Milestone birthdays come in many flavors. I wont list them allbut the 16th and the 30th are two of the best known. Whensomeone hits upon a milestone it is customary to make a big dealof it. You have no doubt heard of folks receiving black rosesfor their 30th or some other birthday that is supposed to markbeing old.
The Bicentennial birthday of the United States is probably thebest known and probably the most celebrated birthday everobserved at least in the U.S. and it gives us some guidance inhonoring our own friends and loved ones when they hit their ownmilestone birthdays.
Citizens made it a big deal and it was a celebrated for morethen a year before the birthday came with a rush of adrenaline. The biggest reason, I believe was the anticipation.
Anyone can order a dozen black roses or take an ad out thatsays, Lordy, Lordy, look whos forty. I like a joke as well asanyone and my friends have called me a first class practicaljoker, however if that is what you want to try then do it withsome panache.
How do we tie both of these ideas together? Simply put, it isplanning. You must decide early what the gift will be and startplanning for the unveiling. You will not hit on the perfect ideathe day before a birthday. That is not to say you will not findan acceptable way to celebrate the milestone birthday the daybefore but it will not have that lasting
taste that you cansavor for years to come.
As a matter of fact if you can figure out the gift a year ormore in advance you can foreshadow it the year before, then youcan reveal a little more of the plan each month or whateverinterval you wish. Now, I have to point out that this is not theway to celebrate a passing acquaintances milestone, unless youwant to be labeled a stalker.
This type celebration is for a close friend, your spouse orpartner. If you do it and do it well they will love you morethan you thought possible.
Let me give you some additional insight into what I am talkingabout so that you know we are both on the same page. Lets saythat the milestone birthday gift is a dream golf trip. The yearbefore the big event you give them a set of clubs. Periodicallyyou give them a reminder that you havent forgotten that golf isimportant to them. A month or two later you give them a golfmagazine subscription. Later still you give them monogrammedtees. Even further down the road you give some fancy ballmarkers.
I think you get the point. You weave a story for a period oftime but you must do it in such a way that they do not fullyunderstand until the day has come. They will love you for thethought and the planning. You will enjoy it as much as they doand your relationship will be richer for it.
